Shanda started her career in dentistry as a chair-side assistant alongside her childhood dentist in Dodge City, KS while pursuing her academic requirements for dental hygiene school.  That path led her to completing her dental hygiene degree from Johnson County Community College in 2004.  She has been our sole hygienist ever since.  Shanda values the time she is able to spend with each of her patients and the relationships she has been able to build through her 20 years with Overland Park Dental Design.  Through her personal touch that is gentle yet thorough, our patients leave every visit knowing their care is our priority and they are not just a number, but truly a member of our dental family.

In 2022 Shanda obtained her esthetics license.  She is excited to bring her expanded skillset to Overland Park Dental Design in the near future, allowing her to blend her two passions of dentistry and skincare services.

When Shanda is away from the office she stays active with her husband Nevin and their 2 grown sons Gavin and Gaige.  You will more than likely find them out playing golf, riding bikes, and doing some DIY projects around the house.  When more low-key times are had Shanda enjoys cooking with a glass of wine and usually has a book or two in progress.
